It is celebrated in the four holy places, Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayag), Ujjain and Nasik, then every twelfth year. It owns a mere religious and mythological significance. This year is the time for Haridwar on 14 january 201-28 April 2010. Dip in the holy river Ganga in Haridawar during the Mela is considered very promising.
